Senior Mobile Application Developer; iOS

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile Application Developer with a specialization in iOS to join their innovative mobile development team in Soweto, Gauteng
. This role is critical for designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge iOS applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. You will be responsible for the entire mobile app lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of Swift/Objective-C, a deep understanding of the iOS ecosystem, and a passion for creating high-quality, performant mobile solutions.

• Design, build, and maintain advanced iOS applications using Swift and/or Objective-C.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to define and ship new features.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following best practices.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and improve application performance.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality, interactive UI elements.
• Work with the latest technologies and APIs provided by Apple.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making for mobile development.
• Stay up-to-date with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development, with a strong focus on iOS.
• Proven expertise in Swift and/or Objective‑C programming languages.
• Deep understanding of the iOS SDK, Xcode, and related development tools.
• Experience with iOS UI frameworks (e.g., UIKit, SwiftUI) and design patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to backend services.
• Experience with performance and memory tuning tools.
• Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines.
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks for iOS is a plus.
