Local Courier and Delivery Driver

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a dependable Local Courier and Delivery Driver to serve the Soweto community and surrounding areas. This role is integral to our client's commitment to providing efficient and timely delivery services to local businesses and residents. You will be responsible for the safe transport of various packages, ensuring accuracy in delivery and collection. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Soweto area, possesses excellent driving skills, and is dedicated to providing friendly and reliable service.

This position requires an individual who can manage their workload effectively and contribute positively to the team.

• Perform local deliveries and pickups of packages and documents within the specified schedule.
• Ensure all items are handled with care and delivered to the correct recipients.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain proof of delivery signatures.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws.
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any issues.
• Provide polite and professional customer service during all interactions.

• Valid Code 08 driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• At least 2 years of experience as a courier or local delivery driver.
• Good knowledge of Soweto and its surrounding road networks.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
• Physically capable of lifting and carrying packages.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
