About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Aviation Operations Controller to manage and coordinate daily flight operations in Soweto . This critical role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of aircraft by managing flight schedules, coordinating with flight crews, and liaising with air traffic control and ground services. You will be the central point of communication, monitoring flight progress and responding effectively to operational challenges.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent decision-making skills, contributing to the seamless flow of air traffic and upholding the highest standards of operational excellence.
- Develop and manage daily flight schedules, optimizing routes and aircraft utilization.
- Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and air traffic information in real-time.
- Communicate effectively with pilots, cabin crew, maintenance, and ground handling personnel.
- Ensure all flights comply with aviation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage operational disruptions, including diversions, delays, and cancellations, and implement contingency plans.
- Maintain accurate operational records and prepare post-flight reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation operations control or a related role.
- Strong understanding of flight operations, air traffic control procedures, and meteorology.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with flight planning software and operational databases.
