About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and responsible Aircraft Load Controller to join their operations team in Soweto . This critical role ensures that aircraft are loaded safely and efficiently, adhering to strict weight and balance limitations to guarantee flight safety. You will work closely with flight crews, ground handling staff, and operations management to calculate and confirm the correct distribution of cargo, baggage, and passengers.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced airport environment. This position offers a foundational role within aviation operations, directly contributing to flight safety.
- Calculate aircraft weight and balance, determining the optimal distribution of cargo, baggage, and passengers.
- Prepare and issue load sheets and manifests accurately for flight crews.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant weight and balance regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with baggage handlers and cargo loaders to ensure correct placement and security of all items.
- Monitor and manage changes to aircraft load due to passenger or cargo variations.
- Liaise with pilots and flight dispatchers to confirm load integrity before flight departure.
- Previous experience in aviation ground operations, dispatch, or logistics is preferred.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to perform complex calculations accurately.
- Familiarity with aircraft weight and balance principles and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
