About the Role

Our client is looking for a dependable Delivery Van Driver to support their retail operations in Soweto . This role is crucial for ensuring that merchandise is delivered efficiently to various store locations and customer premises. You will be responsible for the safe operation of a delivery van, handling goods with care, and maintaining delivery schedules. The ideal candidate is punctual, customer-service oriented, and possesses a good knowledge of the Gauteng road network, particularly within the Soweto area, contributing to the seamless functioning of the retail chain.

• Transport merchandise and goods to designated retail stores and customer addresses in and around Soweto .
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring the security and integrity of all items.
• Follow established delivery routes and time schedules to meet operational demands.
• Verify order details upon delivery and obtain required customer signatures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery van.
• Report any delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer feedback promptly.

• Valid Code 8 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver , preferably for a retail or distribution company.
• Familiarity with the roads and logistics within Soweto and the greater Gauteng region.
• Good physical condition to handle lifting and moving of goods.
• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
• Basic communication skills for interacting with store staff and customers.
