Air Traffic Controller

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and certified Air Traffic Controller to manage and direct air traffic safely and efficiently within their airspace. This critical role requires exceptional situational awareness, quick decision-making abilities, and a deep understanding of air traffic control procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining the flow of aircraft, preventing collisions, and ensuring the orderly progression of air traffic in the busy airspace around Soweto .

• Control and monitor aircraft movements within assigned airspace using radar, communication systems, and visual observation.
• Issue clearances, instructions, and advisories to pilots to ensure safe separation of aircraft and timely flow of traffic.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and unusual situations, providing critical guidance to pilots.
• Coordinate with other air traffic control facilities and units to ensure seamless transitions of aircraft.
• Maintain a constant awareness of weather conditions, airport operations, and potential hazards.
• Adhere strictly to all air traffic control procedures, regulations, and company policies.

• Valid Air Traffic Controller license and relevant ratings issued by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in air traffic control, with proven ability to handle complex traffic scenarios.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in aviation terminology.
• Strong ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure.
• Proficiency in operating air traffic control systems and equipment.
• Must be able to pass rigorous medical and background checks.
