Graduate / Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Location:

Spalding, Lincolnshire
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A construction company based in Spalding is looking to recruit a Graduate or Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in quantity surveying. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, allowing you to develop practical commercial experience while working alongside experienced construction professionals.

The Role

As a Graduate / Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial and financial management of construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Assisting with the preparation of estimates and quotations

* Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor prices

* Supporting the preparation of tender documents

* Assisting with project cost monitoring and reporting

* Helping to prepare valuations, variations and final accounts

* Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information

* Attending project and site meetings when required

* Maintaining accurate commercial and project records

* Working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers

The Candidate

This position would suit a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their construction career.

Applicants should ideally have:

* A degree, HNC, HND or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject

* A genuine interest in developing a career in quantity surveying

* Good numerical and analytical skills

* Strong attention to detail

* Good communication and organisational skills

* A willingness to learn and develop

* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office software

Previous construction experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
