Role Description

A rare opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team here at Princes Long Sutton. This is an exciting time to join our business as it continues to grow and evolve following a £80m site investment - we are in a period of unprecedented transformation.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Factory General Manager, this role will have responsibility for proactively planning, controlling and coordinating all aspects of the site’s Engineering function to ensure optimum equipment performance efficiency as part of the overall sites performance measures. The role will also have responsibility for executing the Capital portfolio plan for the site. All practices must be implemented and operate within Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and site policies and procedures as appropriate.

The role will also work closely with Group Engineering and Continuous Improvement functions to ensure alignment with the Group Manufacturing philosophy to include Asset Management and Capital on time in full.

Whilst the role is site based, it forms part of a business which recognises the need for change with major growth ambitions and as part of which is highly likely to expand both in the UK and overseas. The role will need to be flexible and provide support as required to capitalise on whatever opportunities arise.

To coordinate the Engineering function to help the site achieve optimal operational efficiency at lowest cost through the delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the Group Supply function:

To work closely with the Factory General Manager, Site Senior Leadership Team, Group Engineering and Projects Team to support the delivery of an agreed manufacturing vision and strategy.

Working Hours

This is a Monday - Friday 08.45 - 17.00 position however given the nature of the role some flexibility may be required.

  • Undertake duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which form part of the Integrated Management System.
  • Ensure work undertaken conforms to legislative requirements
  • Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractor health and safety within the production and engineering areas
  • Support and embrace a culture enhancing behavioral awareness to reduce accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.
