Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Nights

We're recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading food manufacturers. Due to continued growth, investment, and increasing customer demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Team Leader or an ambitious Maintenance Engineer looking to step into a leadership role within a market‑leading FMCG environment.

You’ll be responsible for leading a team of engineers, driving equipment reliability, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring engineering standards are maintained across your shift.

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of maintenance engineers.
• Ensure machinery and production equipment are maintained to the highest standards of reliability and performance.
• Organise and prioritise maintenance activities and engineer workloads.
• Manage and update maintenance documentation and job records.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels of engineering spares and consumables.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Act as the technical expert for your shift, supporting engineers with fault finding and problem‑solving.
• Ensure all engineering activities are carried out safely and in line with food safety and health & safety standards.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Team Leader, Engineering Team Leader or Supervisory position.
• Alternatively, be a highly motivated Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step into leadership.
• An electrical bias with strong fault‑finding skills.
• A minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification (Electrical discipline preferred).
• Experience with in FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, manufacturing or a similar automated production environment.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team development.
