Our client has an exciting opportunity within the food industry, for an experienced Category Buyer to join their growing team, to be responsible for the management of products and services & negotiating with the suppliers as well as maintaining positive relationships. This is a fully on-site based role.
Main duties- Supporting the category & procurement plans
- Delivery of sales, margins and profit
- Managing the end-to-end procurement process & analysing market trends
- Respond to customer queries
- Monitor inventory levels
- Attend industry events, trade shows and supplier meetings
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong negotiation & influencing skills
- A strong commercial mindset and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience with in food, wholesale / distribution or FMCG preferred
