QC Analyst

We are supporting a rapidly growing plant‑science organisation in the search for a QC Scientist to join their Quality Control team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to gain hands‑on experience with advanced analytical instrumentation in a regulated setting.

The Role

As a QC Scientist, you will perform analytical testing of plant‑based pharmaceutical ingredients using GC‑MS and HPLC‑UV. You will support cultivation, extraction and downstream processing activities while ensuring full compliance with GMP, SOPs and data integrity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform testing of plant‑derived molecules following SOPs and GMP guidelines
Prepare working solutions, mobile phases and reagents
Document work accurately in line with GMP and data integrity requirements
Conduct routine maintenance and calibration on GC‑MS, HPLC‑UV and density meter
Maintain stock levels and ensure lab consumables are readily available
Support internal audits and regulatory inspections
Participate in data review and continuous process improvement
Work collaboratively with QA, production and other cross‑functional teams

About You

✔ Degree in Chemistry or related discipline, or relevant laboratory experience
✔ Experience working to quality standards (GMP desirable)
✔ Strong attention to detail with good analytical problem‑solving skills
✔ Knowledge of safe laboratory practices (COSHH, risk assessments, PPE)
✔ Ability to work independently and within a wider team
✔ Willingness to learn and support the development of new procedures
