School Psychologists conduct assessments (intelligence, achievement, functional, behavioral, social, emotional, and curriculum-based assessment); interpret results for special education eligibility and individual educational needs; provide case management and coordination; provide crisis intervention to students when appropriate; provide input for group and individual counseling and social skills and training as indicated on IEPs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Valid Washington State ESA certification in school psychology.
- Master’s Degree in Psychology or School Psychology preferred.
- Demonstrated desire and ability to collaborate through work and communication with staff, students, and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of state and federal legislation for disabilities (WAC 392-171, IDEA 2004, Section 504, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with staff, students, and families.
- Evidence of leadership skills, positive human relationship skills, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to administer standardized tests.
- Ability to lead collaboration and integration strategies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings.
- Ability to function as an effective member of the Multi-disciplinary Team.
- Possess working knowledge of Washington State Rules and Regulations for disabled students.
- Experience working with youth involved with the justice system.
- Experience leading teams in manifestation determinations, functional behavior assessments, and behavior intervention plans.
- Ability to identify individual student needs and develop effective recommendations for the multi-disciplinary team.
