The School Behavior Analyst (SBA) will provide ongoing support and training to Behavior Technicians and 1:1 behavioral intervention programs for students. In addition, the SBA works together with district and school based teams to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges.
The SBA also consults with and teaches instructional team members regarding pro-active, educational, programming, and behavioral supports; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members, related service providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Special Education or related human services field and ESA Certification.
- Hold a valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- A minimum of three years of recent experience working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorders and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges and their families.
- Experience in the school and clinical setting.
- Demonstrated desire and ability to work effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of strategies and accommodations to support students in inclusion settings.
- Ability to collaborate positively with general education and special education staff, parents and administrators.
- Experience in writing Individual Education Programs (IEP), including working knowledge of social and behavioral language goals (FBA and BIP), specific task analysis skills, and ability to write measurable annual goals and objectives.
- Ability to participate as an effective member of the IEP team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings.
- WA State ESA certification.
- Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Valid Washington’s Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
