This role is part of the Trailers Plus Lot & Sales Operations department and reports directly to the Store Manager. The position is hourly with commissions and bonuses.
Pay RangeBase pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr
Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), you will support the Store Manager in all aspects of daily retail operations, sales, inventory control, customer service, staff supervision, and service/repair work. The ASM is responsible for maintaining revenue goals, ensuring compliance with company policies, and managing the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager in achieving store revenue goals and manage sales and service staff.
- Implement and enforce all aspects of the Employee Handbook.
- Meet deadlines for daily, weekly, bi‑monthly, monthly, and annual reporting.
- Perform all daily processes, including trailer inspections, trailer sales, parts sales, service work, and inventory control.
- Verify and issue proper invoicing for all trailers, parts, and labor.
- Ensure all required paperwork for each sale is submitted to state agencies and company departments timely.
- Maintain a respectful, safe, and productive workplace through hiring, onboarding, training, counseling, and performance management.
- Manage facility keys and enforce related policies and procedures.
- Collaborate strategically with other company departments.
- Back up the Store Manager in their absence.
- Maintain accurate time cards, ensuring proper start/end times and break scheduling.
- Keep the store facility and grounds clean, organized, and safe.
- Attend all required team and company meetings.
- Obtain necessary state and city vehicle sales licenses.
- Generate sales leads in the local market.
- Operate forklift, tractor, power tools, and welding equipment with required company certification.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports, correspondence, and safety documents.
- Proficient in basic algebra, geometry, and basic math for discounts, commissions, and pricing.
- Basic computer skills, including keyboarding, and familiarity with online systems.
- Strong reasoning ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, sit, lift 50‑75 lbs, and operate machinery and ladders.
- Adaptability to work in wet, humid, or outdoor conditions and exposure to mechanical parts.
Fluent in English;
Spanish proficiency is a plus.
