We're looking for an experienced Safety Manager to lead our safety efforts across the Wasatch Front - local to Spanish Fork, UT.

This is more than a compliance role. You'll partner with operational leaders, mentor a team of safety professionals, and help shape a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility. If you're a collaborative leader who enjoys coaching others, influencing change, and driving continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop safety professionals. Coach, mentor, and support your team while establishing clear expectations and promoting professional growth.

  • Partner with operational leadership. Build strong relationships with project and field leaders to integrate safety into daily operations, reinforce accountability, and drive a proactive safety culture.

  • Strengthen safety programs. Develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, training, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Provide hands‑on field support. Regularly visit project sites across the Wasatch Front to conduct safety inspections, review pre-task plans and job hazard analyses, assess trenching and excavation activities, and support safe work practices.

  • Lead incident investigations and prevention efforts. Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and use lessons learned to prevent future incidents.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance. Serve as a trusted resource on applicable OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, MSHA, workers’ compensation, and injury case management requirements.

  • Use data to drive improvement. Monitor safety trends, evaluate performance, identify emerging risks, and implement targeted initiatives to reduce incidents and improve outcomes.

  • Champion continuous improvement. Promote Suncore’s values, strengthen communication across teams, and help ensure safety remains central to how we plan and execute work.

Required Qualifications
  • At least three years of experience supporting projects of similar size and construction type.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA or equivalent state‑plan regulations and FMCSA regulations.

  • Experience with injury case management and workers’ compensation regulations.

  • Hands‑on experience with safety inspections, pre-task plans, job hazard analyses, trenching and excavation inspections, confined space entry permits, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and other core safety processes.

  • Completion of the OSHA 30‑Hour Construction course within the last three years.

  • At least one of the following safety credentials or educational qualifications:

    • OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer for Construction

  • Strong communication, coaching, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

  • The ability to build effective partnerships with field teams and operational leaders while balancing regulatory requirements with practical solutions.
