About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing privately held manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional to gain exposure to all aspects of general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit support. This role offers visibility across multiple departments, hands-on experience with ERP systems, and the chance to contribute to a company that values integrity, teamwork, and operational excellence.
WhatYou’ll Do
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations. You will handle daily and monthly accounting processes, support audits, and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger reporting.
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including bank statements (U.S. & Canadian) and corporate credit card accounts.
- Manage the SAP Concur platform for expense reports, employee reimbursements, and travel.
- Assist with annual external audits by preparing schedules and required documentation.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, billing, payment applications, and customer collections.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, deductions, and chargebacks in coordination with internal teams.
- Track and analyze trade promotions, penalties, and deduction trends.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, including exposure to A/P, A/R, and general ledger.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word, Outlook, Adobe Editor.
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage X3 preferred), SAP Concur, and EDI systems a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with integrity in handling sensitive data.
- Education:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Background in manufacturing industries is strongly preferred.
- Experience with reconciliations, banking, and audit support.
