Civil Safety Professional

Position Overview

CEIS | Government is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to provide onsite safety oversight for civil contractor operations at a major data center project in Sparks, NV. The role is critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, and proactive environment on a fast‑paced job site with extensive underground, grading, and heavy equipment operations.

• Provide daily safety oversight for all civil activities, including:
  • Underground grading
  • Paving and concrete operations
  • Operation and coordination of heavy equipment (Triple 7 haul trucks, blades, dozers)
• Enforce site‑specific safety protocols and regulatory compliance (OSHA, company standards)
• Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, and JSAs across dynamic work zones
• Monitor excavation and trenching operations; enforce proper confined space entry practices
• Ensure rigging and hoisting operations are conducted safely and with proper inspection and oversight
• Engage directly with civil contractors, subcontractors, and site leadership to drive a culture of safety
• Respond to incidents, lead investigations, and support corrective action planning
• Deliver toolbox talks, spot training, and on‑the‑fly mentoring to reinforce safe work practices

• 5+ years of field safety experience in large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Earthwork and grading
  • Underground utility installation
  • Concrete placement
  • Heavy equipment operation safety
  • Rigging and confined space entry
• Experience managing safety on large data center, energy, or industrial projects strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable working in high‑traffic equipment zones and rapidly evolving scopes
• OSHA 30 (Construction) required; additional safety certifications (e.g., rigging, confined space) preferred
• Hands‑on, boots‑on‑the‑ground mentality: this is a field‑driven role
