UPS Battery Maintenance Technician, DCC Communities

We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class UPS Battery Testing Technician to join our growing Operations Services team. The team responsibilities include maintaining critical equipment in support of providing best‑in‑class availability for our data center customers. This critical role is responsible for the preventative maintenance of UPS batteries in our data centers and works closely with internal customers, external vendors, and regional resources to facilitate smooth work execution.

• Apply preventative maintenance testing techniques to maintain UPS batteries across our fleet of data centers.
• Act as an ambassador for safety and promote safe working practices across the site.
• Remain cognizant of and act in compliance with all security protocols.
• Interact daily with engineers, technicians, project managers and management.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop detailed, creative solutions to complex problems while adhering to timelines and cost constraints.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships across all levels in the organization.
• Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow‑up.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Provide support for LSE, weather events, planned, and unplanned outages.
• Provide cross‑functional support for ATS and non‑destructive testing teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate must meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company service vehicle, including but not limited to: must have a valid driver’s license issued by the state in which they reside.

• Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
• 1+ year of experience in data center or mission‑critical facility operations (e.g., hospitals, military installations, public safety facilities, manufacturing); OR a bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics); OR trade school training/certification.

• Proficiency in identifying safety concerns and maintaining a secure work environment in compliance with NFPA 70E guidelines.
• Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Basic scripting experience (Python).

Pay ranges from $59,600 /year in our lowest geographic market up to $133,200 /year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon may offer equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
