Engineering Technician, Semi, Drivetrain – Tesla

A leading innovator in the automotive and renewable energy sectors, Tesla is looking for an Engineering Technician who will spearhead OEE improvement projects, support production efficiency, and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.

As an Engineering Technician, you will lead OEE improvement projects that directly impact production line efficiency. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability, minimize downtime, increase first-pass yield, and reduce cycle time. You’ll assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Testing (SATs), which may require international travel for the first few months.

• Participate in Kaizen events across the factory to improve OEE (Availability, First Pass Yield, Throughput)
• Work with engineers to drive down bottlenecks on the production line
• Design and fabricate simple fixtures and production aids
• Learn internal tools to diagnose product and equipment failures, identify root causes, and communicate corrective actions
• Develop Manufacturing Instructions for processes and train operators and other technicians
• Analyze production datasets, identify patterns, and present solutions using tools such as Python, MySQL, Minitab, JMP

• Hands‑on experience with hand and power tools, high & low voltage systems, wire harness assembly and repair, mechanical components, electro‑mechanical devices, soldering, wire crimping, and DMMs
• Ability to interpret drawings and 3D CAD; experience with CAD (e.g., CATIA, Solid Works) and/or electrical design (e.g., Altium), fabrication/machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting equipment (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• English language proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking
• Ability to travel internationally for the first few months
