Title : Principal Designer
Location : Sparks, NV
Pay : $107.76 / hr. on W2
Duration : 6 Months, Temp to Hire
About the RoleWe are seeking a Principal Designer to join our team supporting advanced aerospace and defense projects. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to develop highly complex designs, ranging from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to integrated aircraft and space exploration systems. You will create and review layouts, drawings, and models for clarity, completeness, and accuracy, while identifying design errors and recommending improvements.
Responsibilities- Develop and review detailed designs, layouts, and models for aerospace systems.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
- Identify and resolve design deficiencies, recommending revisions as needed.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Apply and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Support design principles including parametric design, model-based definition, and material / component selection.
- Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and stair climbing.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Rare exposure to hazardous materials or loud noise.
- High School Diploma or GED with 14+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with Computer-Aided Engineering tools.
- Background in Aerospace & Defense industry.
- Experience with design software : SOLIDWORKS, Creo, NX, Pro Engineer, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Enovia 3
Dxperience. - Working knowledge of ASME and government standards.
- Familiarity with Electro‑Magnetic Effects (EME), EMC, and EMI.
- Experience in digital / analog circuit layout and PCB design.
- Understanding of fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes.
- Must-have :
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. - Preferred :
Associate or Technical Degree in a related field.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
