Overview
As Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in the company s financial strategy and business finance functions. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements, ensuring they align with the company s business objectives and financial goals. This is a critical role with high visibility within the company and the executive management team, directly impacting business finance decisions and strategic planning.
Responsibilities- Oversee the development and implementation of new accounting standards, application of technical accounting, and internal and external reporting policies.
- Perform technical research, compose supporting memos, and communicate findings to corporate and key stakeholders, emphasizing the financial impact on business operations.
- Review financial information, transactions, reports, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports to verify accuracy and compliance.
- Provide analysis and insights that influence the evaluation and execution of financial transactions in alignment with strategic business goals.
- Ensure adherence to and communication of accounting policies, optimize financial performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide critical insights and data to the executive management team to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
- Public accounting and other related experience, Big 4 firm experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of financial accounting regulations; GAAP; and financial statement analysis, preparation and reporting
- Ability to identify, research, leverage resources and document conclusions for technical accounting resolution
- Mastery of the ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and demonstrate ability to adapt to dynamic situations
- Proven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, and literacy in the accounting disciplines
- Proficiency with automated accounting systems
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express concepts in verbal and written forms
- Ability to navigate change and uncertainty, make defensible decisions in ambiguity and own those decisions
- Ability to draft technical accounting memos
- Support external and internal audits
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- Typically 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
- SEC Reporting experience
- Aerospace & Defense, or related manufacturing industry experience
- Demonstrated passion for ideation, intellectual curiosity, and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose
- Public Accounting (Big
4) and other related experience - M&A due diligence support
- Proven long-term and strategic perspective that extends beyond the immediate initiatives; visualizes and articulates a clear direction
- Team oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $ - $. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
