• Verify benefits for all hospital patients and coordinate pre-admission of inpatients and outpatients.
• Collect and enter admission information into the computer database and distribute necessary details to ancillary departments.
• Ensure patients understand hospital policies, procedures, and admission requirements.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hospital policies related to safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
• Apply standard precautions and comply with OSHA and infection control standards.
• Report safety and risk issues and complete incident reports as needed.
• Actively contribute to performance improvement teams (e.g., NPSG, HCAHPS, core measures).
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of insurance billing.
• Typing speed of 40 wpm and general clerical skills.
• Computer literacy and medical terminology knowledge.
