Responsibilities
Full‑time Medical Office Specialist (MOS) role for day shift schedule.
Manage front‑desk operations: patient scheduling, check‑in/out, communication with patients, insurers, and staff. Assist with patient positioning, specimen collection, clinical screenings, and charting per provider guidelines. Serve as liaison between patients and medical team.
- Check schedules, organize patient flow, accompany patients to exam rooms, assist with transfers, dressing, and specimen collection.
- Assist physicians and nurses with procedures, charting, and relaying instructions.
- Answer calls, provide pertinent information, and maintain patient records.
- Send/receive medical records, obtain lab/x‑ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage and demographics, and manage chart accuracy.
- Complete forms, requisitions, and end‑of‑day cash balancing and charge reconciliation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or at least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Preferred:
Office Specialist certification.
Knowledge,
Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience with patient check‑in and check‑out process (per clinic protocol).
- Knowledge of general medical office procedures.
- Understanding of end‑of‑day cash balancing and charge reconciliation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
