Network Deployment Lead, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers and other vital roles to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

• Initial cabling planning, installation, validation and quality assessment.
• Engage external contractors, including newly onboarded cabling vendors.
• Plan and work with a wide range of project stakeholders to determine device and cabling requirements, schedule resources to meet project timelines, engage external vendors and continuously report status.
• Install, rack and stack networking devices, run and patch fiber cabling, and configure devices using automation tools and the command line interface.
• Validate, troubleshoot devices and stress test prior to capacity delivery.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% including some local and international assignments throughout AMER.

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting.

• Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
