Job Description

AWS is seeking Data Center Technicians to support customers in multiple locations. The role reports to a site location and involves hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and may include on‑call rotation. The environment operates 24/7 and requires independent work, teamwork, prioritization, effective communication, and rapid reaction skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet SLA’s for assigned trouble tickets via directed workflow.
  • Serve as first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
  • Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.).
  • Carry out routine network, server hardware, and OS related repairs.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on routine work.
  • Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
  • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goal achievement.
  • Identify and create documentation for global use.
  • Identify and create process improvements relevant to the data center environment.
  • Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, and scheduled work as required.
  • Interact with third‑party vendors and contractors.
  • Contribute to the development of other team members.
A Day in the Life
  • Take ownership of technical issues brought by customers, engaging other teams as needed.
  • Show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Resolve problems at root and understand broader context.
  • Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Act decisively in absence of direction.
  • Improve effectiveness through process innovation.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on‑call rotation as needed.
  • Some regional travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ year of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ year of computer networking experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective customer problem resolution and efficient operation under pressure.

Compensation

Base pay ranges from $50,600 to $113,200 per year depending on geographic location. Pay is based on market location and may vary. Additional equity and sign‑on payments may be part of the total compensation package.
