As a Regional Safety Manager, you will have the opportunity to oversee safety operations within SVM’s Nevada operations. The Regional Safety Manager will play a crucial role in cultivating a safety-first culture, ensuring a safe working environment for employees, visitors, and project activities while ensuring alignment to SVM safety protocols and compliance with regulatory standards.

What you will do
  • Oversee SVM’s safety operations across Nevada operations including fabrication facilities, office, and project sites.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Director to develop, implement, and maintain region-specific SOPs, safety policies, and plans tailored to Nevada’s environmental conditions and project types, reviewing and updating as needed.
  • Roll out new safety initiatives and tools in Nevada, ensuring alignment with SVM’s safety standards and strategic goals.
  • Identify, promote, and facilitate training to enhance safety knowledge and encourage best practices across regional operations.
  • Maintain and enforce region-specific safety training programs, ensuring employees receive the appropriate training to meet certification requirements, project demands, environmental conditions, and role-specific safety needs.
  • Lead and oversee a team of safety professionals including Safety Officers and administrators, conducting monthly check‑ins and annual reviews to support professional growth.
  • Track and analyze regional safety performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct site visits, job walks, and safety audits to identify hazards, support teams and monitor safety practices in real‑time.
  • Audit job walks performed by Safety Officers to identify potential hazards and provide feedback.
  • Support Project Management and field leaders in developing and reviewing site‑specific safety plans.
  • Attend monthly meetings with the Safety Director to review incidents, strategic goals, SOPs, and emerging safety concerns within the region.
  • Participate in monthly foreman meetings and quarterly project management meetings to address safety planning and resource allocation.
  • Provide coaching throughout jobsite safety encounters, promoting accountability and reinforcing SVM’s safety‑first culture.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with the safety team and field leadership to discuss current topics, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Enforce corrective action plans for identified safety violations or hazards.
  • Maintain and conduct training on emergency response plans, ensuring employees are prepared for emergencies.
  • Serve as the regional point of contact for regulatory agencies, external auditors, and medical providers.
  • Assist with escalated and critical safety tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging safety trends.
  • Support the Safety Department with other tasks and projects as business requires.
Education, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar field highly preferred, equivalent professional experience within a safety‑focused discipline required

  • Minimum of 10 years of safety leadership experience in a Regional Safety Manager or equivalent role required, within the AEC industry highly preferred
    .
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety standards and practices including fall protection, cranes, excavations, scaffolding, welding, PPE, heavy equipment operations, etc.

  • Valid CSP and/or CHST certification required
    ; ASP, OSHA 510, OSHA 500 a plus

  • Demonstrated expertise in OSHA regulations, along with local, state, federal safety standards and requirements required

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs, policies, and site‑specific safety plans required
    .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and construction accounting software highly preferred

  • Possesses a valid California’s Driver’s License and willing to submit to a DMV report a must
