What to ExpectTesla Gigafactory Nevada is looking for an Associate Quality Operations Manager responsible for leading, coaching and coordinating Quality Supervisors and Technicians within Gigafactory Nevada’s Battery Module area. In this role, you will drive collaboration and the achievement of company goals by enabling the Quality team to support and drive problem solving, effective planning, coaching, and training personnel, and developing successful employees.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Build a strong, motivated Quality Operations team capable of consistently delivering high-quality performance focusing on quality products built right the first time.
- Maintain a culture that prioritizes safety and quality through communication, action, and accountability.
- Ensure sufficient coverage of competent, trained staff to support all Quality and Production targets in all Gigafactory manufacturing operations.
- Empower the Quality Operations team to collaborate with Engineering to improve product quality, product manufacturability and line productivity.
- Facilitate the improvement of quality controls and audits to prevent escape of suspect material. Support projects to ensure robustness in the quality system (strong problem solving and standardization) and its controls by implementing effective controls for suspect materials.
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.
- 3+ year experience managing teams of people in a high volume manufacturing setting.
- Degree in Business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to support Quality problem identification, prioritization, and resolution.
- Ability to work with and develop Quality performance metrics.
- Ability to develop motivation and drive from team members even on challenging situations.
- Able to work well under extreme pressure while managing competing demands and deadlines.
