What To Expect:
As a Tesla Gigafactory Operator, you will have the opportunity to operate and develop one of the largest and most sophisticated operating manufacturing facilities in the world. You will help drive world-class energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact through smart operational philosophies and unprecedented operational flexibility. Tesla operators will work closely with system experts to continuously develop and improve state-of-the-art systems that support the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
You'll Do
- Operate and monitor HVAC, hydronic, compressed air, electrical, chemical refining, and delivery systems
- Start, stop, and maintain equipment using control software; troubleshoot deviations from normal parameters
- Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, and routine operator rounds, collaborating with teammates and engineers
- Ensure safety compliance in hazardous environments; utilize control systems to monitor equipment and verify trends
- Work from schematics, plans, and instructions, implementing standard practices and adhering to 5S practices
- Champion safety policies during tasks, aiming to improve equipment reliability and system performance
- Work with hazardous materials, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols
- Understand basic mechanical and electrical systems; experience in chemical handling and electrical distribution is desired
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 10+ hours; lift up to 20 lbs multiple times per day; climb ladders; work in confined spaces and loud environments
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials; ability to wear a full-face air-purifying respirator as needed and to use required PPE
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and adapt to change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Open to flexible schedules, including days, nights, or weekends, with safety-conscious work practices and adherence to prescribed guidelines
