E R at Spanish Springs, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is open 24/7 and welcomes all ages from pediatrics to seniors. The facility features multiple treatment rooms, including fast‑track exam rooms designed to efficiently triage low‑severity patients. Advanced imaging services are available, including ultrasound, CT and X‑ray, and outpatient lab draws. Like a hospital emergency department, the FED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including trauma, lacerations, acute pain and other life‑threatening but emergent conditions.

This ER Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem and offers a flexible schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department; coordinate care planning with other disciplines; and provide care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. The nurse determines priorities based on patient needs and influences patient flow, communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Ability to perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
- Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients; accurately assigns triage categories.
- Monitors hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interprets the results.
- Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain‑management techniques and educates the patient and family regarding pain management.

Current NV RN license
Two to three years of experience in the emergency department preferred OR
Two to three years of critical care experience OR
Extensive EMS background experience
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
Current PALS certification (within 6 months of hire)
