Overview
Retail Assistant Store Manager - 2028 role rly rate: $16.00 to $19.00 per hour. We offer a commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process and the potential to earn unlimited commission above your hourly base rate.

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management/3rd key experience. The role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction. This position helps analyze store financial statements to ensure goals are met and supports asset protection, store operations, merchandising, and customer service in a customer-centric environment.
The role also involves acting as manager on duty in the Store Manager’s absence, and earning commission based on productivity with bonuses tied to store performance.
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues quickly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and loan security.
- Manage store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
- Analyze financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
- Communicate store mission and profit objectives to employees; maintain product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (as required by law).
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others; ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Some duties may involve assisting customers outside the building or retrieving items from exterior areas.
- Minimum Age: 18;
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. - Ability to work in multiple locations as needed and to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
- 40+ hours per week; hours are based on business needs and not guaranteed.
- Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and office machines.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Cash handling experience; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong work ethic and business sense.
The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
