As a Sales Associate, you will have an exciting opportunity to grow your sales career with the leader in the industry. You will support the business plan through profitable revenue generation, gaining valuable hands‑on training and real‑world experience in the field. The position may be located at any of our 1,200+ locations across North America, working independently and collaborating with local branch teams.
Whatyou'll do
- Qualify and quantify the needs of our existing customer base using our CRM program, , and persuasive selling techniques.
- Validate and collect primary decision maker’s contact information and customer needs for future sales and marketing campaigns.
- Leverage marketing and sales tools to identify and sell new customers.
- Recover declining and dormant customers via our sales tools and the United Rentals value proposition.
- Support and learn about branch operations.
- Learn accurate use of United Rentals’ IT systems for quotes, rentals, sales, reservations, and territory management.
- Coordinate with all branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues to branch personnel.
- Work with ISR’s to provide solutions to customers around equipment needs assessment, training, demonstrations, quotations, catalogs, and credit apps.
- Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales in accordance with pricing policies and procedures.
- Drive customer engagement to local events and promotions.
- Perform duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- One year of experience in a sales‑related role preferred.
- Proven planning, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills with at least one year of experience using Microsoft Office.
- Strong presentation skills and a demonstrable sales orientation.
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is mandatory.
- Willing and able to relocate.
