Position OverviewThe Carpenter – Apprentice assists in constructing, assembling, installing, and repairing structures and frameworks made from wood, metal, or other materials. This entry-level position is designed for individuals developing trade skills and gaining hands‑on experience under the guidance of Journeyman Carpenters and Foremen on industrial and commercial job sites.
Key Responsibilities- Construction Support:
Assist in the layout, measurement, cutting, and installation of structural and finishing materials. - Material Handling:
Load, unload, and organize lumber, tools, and materials for efficient job site operations. - Tool Usage:
Learn to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment. - Blueprint Reading:
Study blueprints and drawings under supervision to understand layout and fabrication requirements. - Safety Compliance:
Follow company safety procedures, use PPE properly, and participate in safety meetings. - Skill Development:
Gain proficiency in measuring, framing, and assembling structural components as part of on‑the‑job training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in or interest in entering an approved carpentry apprenticeship program.
- Basic knowledge of construction principles and tools.
- Reliable attendance, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
- OSHA 10‑Hour Safety Certification.
- Prior construction or industrial site experience.
- Work is performed at industrial and commercial project sites, both indoors and outdoors. May involve exposure to noise, dust, varying weather conditions, and elevated work areas. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Reports to the Carpenter – Foreman or Project Superintendent. Works under the supervision of Journeyman Carpenters.
CompensationCompensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and project scope, in accordance with Nevada law.
