DESCRIPTION:

Special Education Paraprofessional

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide daily 1-to-1 instruction for students with disabilities in accordance with Board approved curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must meet or be able to meet NJ “Highly Qualified Paraprofessional” requirements, which include one of the following:
  Minimum of 48 college credits;
  Associate’s degree or higher; or Passing score on the ETS Para Pro Assessment.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
• Successful Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27SY is Step SM1, Paraprofessional / IA
