Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
Maintenance is responsible for keeping both the physical facility and the production equipment in good working order. A qualified candidate must also have a good understanding of basic mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and be able to support internal and external resources in completing various maintenance projects.
The maintenance technician will perform mechanical work on various machines in our facility, including repairs, preventative maintenance, modifications, and basic electrical work, as well as general facilities maintenance such as painting, wiring, repairing building structures, and other duties as assigned.
The maintenance technician will possess the ability or have the capacity to learn how to use any number of tools and all required safety devices. Candidates must interact with a production computer terminal and may be required to be certified (or trained) to drive a forklift truck, operate an overhead crane, and operate a pallet jack. Candidates must be able to carry out additional assignments as instructed by the manager.

Major Responsibilities / Activities- Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Service and maintain equipment including motors, hydraulic systems, transmission systems, and production‑related equipment.
- Service and maintain the facility including wiring, painting, landscaping, and general repairs.
- Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
- Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
- Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicate with the production team and maintain a clean work area.
- Conduct activities by adhering to established procedures and approved processes.
- Develop knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment and apply this knowledge to the completion of work as assigned.
- Promote a safe work environment and uphold all safety policies.
- Carry out all job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent with at least five years of industrial manufacturing experience, or completed documented formal training resulting in a certificate or degree in a related industrial or facilities maintenance field.
- In‑depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems maintenance.
- Advanced experience working with 480V power systems.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and recent updates.
- Advanced understanding of motor controls, AC and DC circuits, PLC ladder logic, and basic programming of PLCs.
- Ability to bend, install, and thread conduit sizes ½” – 4”.
- Read blueprints and schematics.
- Intermediate experience with operating lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
- Basic computer and report‑writing skills.
- Ability to work required hours to meet production or project goals.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Maintain focus on tasks with attention to detail.
- Follow an established routine and be predisposed to high‑level interaction in a team environment.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated individual capable of working independently without continuous supervision.
- Understand that success for one is measured by success for all.
- Manage multiple tasks, priorities, and adapt to changing situations.
- Perform general math calculations.
- Safely lift or move at least 50 lbs.
- Safely climb stairs or a ladder.
- Work at heights exceeding 10 ft. above grade.
Tools and equipment, along with specialized training if needed, will be provided as required.
