The position of Senior Project Manager is an essential part of the General Construction Team and will be involved in the management of multiple projects and teams to ensure projects are running efficiently while providing general project oversight to mitigate project constraints. The role ensures the assigned projects maintain schedule, quality, safety, and budget. This person will work closely with the General Superintendent, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Field Engineers to establish the direction of each project and ensure a quality project is delivered to the customers’ satisfaction, which is within budget and on schedule as referenced in the executed contract documents.
This person is also responsible for managing the project teams to ensure they are working in a cooperative and efficient manner that supports the project’s overall success.
- Maintain client satisfaction on assigned projects.
- Supervise General Contracting Division project teams.
- Participate in project reviews with the preconstruction team on assigned projects.
- Participate in handoff of project from preconstruction team to project team.
- Review and approve project execution plans.
- Review and approve the project schedules.
- Ensure site‑specific safety & quality requirements are developed.
- Verify timely buy‑out of all major purchase orders has been completed within 30 days of project start.
- Timely review and approval of subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Review and approval of schedule of values for each project.
- Monitor project schedule and provide course corrections as needed to maintain timelines.
- Accountable for monitoring and reporting project budget.
- Accountable for ensuring project teams are adhering to contract terms and conditions.
- Verify regular project photos and daily reports are being completed in Procore.
- Maintain open communications with owner and subcontractors.
- Verify projects are addressing change management in a timely fashion.
- Ensure timely payments are received from the customer.
- Maintain a cash‑positive position on all projects.
- Ensure project close‑out is completed timely.
- Review and approve work in progress and executive summary reports monthly.
- Manage project close‑out meetings.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with construction project management software is a plus, but not required.
- Strong business ethics with regard to budgets, invoicing and payments.
- Ability to read contract documents and P&.
- Working knowledge of project estimating, planning, scheduling and budgeting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that align with core values.
- 10+ years of experience with knowledge of construction, design, and cost management.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction science & management or related field is preferred.
