As a seasoned Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you'll be equipped with a company vehicle to conduct field testing and observations of construction materials at various project sites. • Project and Document Review:
  Understand project requirements before fieldwork; accurately record observations and test results related to construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and other pertinent materials.
• Metafield® Utilization:
  Efficiently manage data using field and laboratory information systems.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Ensure field and lab tools are accurate and meet industry standards.
• Inspection Monitoring:
  Follow International Building Code (IBC) standards for testing and inspecting construction materials.
• Stakeholder Communication:
  Interact with management, contractors, and clients to report project progress and resolve any issues.

Experience shifting work hours based on project needs and weather conditions, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half).

This person is dependable, organized, communicates clearly, and approaches each project with a problem‑solving mindset.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma/GED
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction testing/inspecting soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
• Certifications/Professional Licensure-Registrations: at least two (2) or more active certifications, a plus:
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI):
    Field Testing Grade I;
    Strength Testing Technician;
    Laboratory Technician
  • International Code Council (ICC):
    Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
• Key
  
  Competencies:
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • Good math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
  • The understanding of a fluctuating schedule and an interest in occasional travel

• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out-of-town and/or overnight) as project needs arise
