School Guidance Counselor

Responsibilities

• Discusses the comprehensive school counseling program work plan with the school administrators and the supervising director to work collaboratively with staff to implement a comprehensive school counseling program.
• Guidance Curriculum:
  Provides leadership and collaborates with other educators in the school-wide integration of the State Guidance curriculum standards for student development.
• Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student’s needs and school goals.
• Assists all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.

• Must have a Master’s Degree and Licensure by the SC Department of Education in Guidance-Elementary or Secondary or Associate Guidance – Secondary or Secondary Advance; and two (2) years’ experience teaching or counseling.
• Must have knowledge of the communication and cultural issues related to serving sensory impaired individuals.
• If selected for an interview you must provide verification of your highest level of education (e.i., copy of BA Degree, high school diploma, college transcripts) and if applicable, licensure and/or certification (e.i., nursing licensure, teacher licensure, bus driver certification).
