We are looking for a Senior EHS Specialist to join our Care Chemicals team in Spartanburg, SC.

Reporting to the EHS Director of Care Chemicals Americas, you will be responsible for supporting, facilitating and implementing EHS programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements as needed through a shared business resource concept.

As a Senior EHS Specialist, you create chemistry by...
  • Providing technical and regulatory expertise to ensure EHS compliance at the assigned site, with an emphasis on environmental management.
  • Providing strategic leadership while working with site management, employees, and the EHS Community on identified EHS issues, recommendations, and opportunities to drive continuous improvement of EHS programs and culture.
  • Managing federal, state and local environmental compliance programs which include air, waste and water programs (e.g. LDAR, Title V, PSM/RMP, RCRA, EPCRA, SPCC).
  • Supporting implementation of Responsible Care® Management System.
  • Serving as the technical expert on occupational safety, regulatory compliance matters for OSHA, and applicable industry standards as managed by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
  • Assisting with the implementation of corporate EHS policies and procedures (Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Incident/Accident investigation, HAZCOM, Training, Pre‑startup safety reviews, etc.).
  • Interfacing with employees, regulatory agencies and third parties, as needed, on compliance and enforcement issues; as well as communicating and facilitating the sharing of programs, procedures, and tools that promote a safe and healthy working environment.
If you...
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or an Environmental discipline, or another related field.
  • Bring 5‑10 years of experience implementing EHS programs in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Are experienced with Health and Safety management Responsible Care® management systems.
  • Preferably have professional certification(s) in safety, health, or environmental topics.
