We are hiring a Registered Nurse to join our ICU team at Cherokee Medical Center. This Full‑Time Weekend Staffing position requires nights from 7 pm to 7 am. The role involves working 36 hours per week, with 2 shifts on the weekend and 1 shift during the week. The nurse receives a base rate plus $20 per hour on weekend shifts, and a shift differential of $4.25 and a weekend differential of $5.75 where applicable.
Our Intensive Care Unit has 12 beds and a 2:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio. We utilize the latest technology such as Omnicell, Epic, Alaris Pumps, Workstation on Wheels, and Mindray vitals monitors. Case types include sepsis, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, DKA, COPD, exacerbation, AFib with RVR, hypertensive emergency, post‑surgical and others.
The Acute Care Registered Nurse provides inpatient nursing care in compliance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act and all organizational protocols, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes; clinical competency and evidence‑based practice; advocacy and therapeutic patient care; clinical pathways and team dynamics; and support of associates. The RN collaborates with leadership to develop and implement the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s culture, mission, vision, and values.
- Graduate of an approved or accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN licensure in South Carolina or a Compact State
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be obtained post‑hire)
Preferred Experience: One year of recent RN experience within the past five years.
