Non-Invasive Cardiologist (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Non-Invasive Cardiologist provides comprehensive cardiovascular care through evaluation, diagnosis, and medical management of heart disease using non-invasive testing modalities. This role emphasizes outpatient and inpatient consultative care, preventive cardiology, and longitudinal management of cardiovascular conditions using evidence-based, patient-centered practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and lipid disorders
- Provide outpatient cardiology clinic care and inpatient consultation services as needed
- Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac diagnostic studies such as transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing (exercise and pharmacologic), ambulatory rhythm monitoring, and cardiac imaging as applicable
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Manage cardiovascular medications and monitor treatment effectiveness and safety
- Participate in preventive cardiology and cardiovascular risk-reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, primary care, and other specialists
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, lifestyle modification, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
- Supervise and educate residents, fellows, or advanced practice providers as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility
- Expertise in non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics and medical management
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills
- Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
- Ability to manage complex and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Commitment to evidence-based, high-quality patient care
- Outpatient cardiology clinics, diagnostic testing laboratories, and inpatient hospital settings
- Call coverage as determined by practice or service needs
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinic and hospital environments
- Manual dexterity for examinations and diagnostic testing
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for interpretation of diagnostic studies
