Position Summary

The Urgent Care Physician provides timely, high-quality medical care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries in an urgent care setting. This role focuses on rapid evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of non-life‑trea­ving conditions, emphasizing patient-centered care, efficiency, and appropriate care coordination.

• Evaluate and treat patients with acute medical conditions and minor injuries
• Manage common urgent care presentations such as respiratory infections, gastrointestinal illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries, lacerations, burns, and minor trauma
• Perform procedures consistent with training and privileges, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, X-rays, and point-of-care testing
• Prescribe medications and provide treatment plans appropriate to urgent care settings
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care Identify patients requiring higher levels of care and coordinate transfers to emergency departments or specialty services
• Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and support staff
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
• DEA registration or eligibility

• Proficiency in office‑based and minor surgical procedures

• Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments

• Urgent care centers with extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Shift‑based scheduling

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinical environment
• Manual dexterity for procedures and examinations
• Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and communication
