Overview of the Position ResponsibilitiesOur Installation and Repair Technician will be responsible for repairing, installing, modifying, and upgrading companies' telecommunication systems and related equipment. Be part of our innovation – building and delivering a fiber‑rich internet connection to people’s doorsteps.
What You Will Do- Upgrade and maintain current telecommunications systems.
- Evaluate customers’ needs and install systems that best meet those needs.
- Run routine tests to ensure all components function at optimal levels.
- Perform diagnostic testing to identify and resolve technical faults.
- Check all wiring work to ensure a professional appearance.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in the truck to meet customers’ needs.
- Investigate and resolve customers’ complaints in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in the telecommunications field (preferred).
- Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, Email, database software.
- Completion of a background check and a drug test prior to employment.
- Physical ability to stand most of the time, walk or work over all types of terrain in all types of weather, carry tools and equipment, work in tight spaces, climb extension ladders (approx. 28’ & 75lbs), differentiate wire sizes and colors, work in elevated places, use hand tools, work with small components, use close and peripheral vision, work in poorly vented areas at extreme temperatures, move, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, push, and grasp, lift up to 90 pounds, work computer and test equipment, work in dusty, dirty, noisy, insect or cleaning solution environments, work near power lines and electrical equipment, drive Company vehicles safely.
- Ability to meet the physical limit requirements of personal protective equipment, aerial lift equipment, ladders, and/or gaffs used in this position.
