** Position Highlights
**** Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
** Ideal candidate would be in the surrounding area of Spencer and Spirit Lake with a 30 minute on-call response time for both Spencer Hospital and Lakes Regional Hospital. This position is staff by Spencer Hospital and will share call duties with Lakes Regional.
** Responsibilities:
*** Responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision, according to the medical direction of the radiologist
* Must provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting films
* The sonographer will adopt the missions of the Hospital and Radiology Department
* Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics
* Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure
** Requirements:
*** Graduate from an approved school of Medical Sonography
* American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registry eligible
* Registered sonographer with ARDMS
*
* Schedule:
*** PRN availability for 9 hour variable day shifts - must be flexible
* Scheduled on-call rotation for weekend nights and weekends
* Rotating on-call holidays
* The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
