** Position Highlights
**** Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
**** Full-Time or Weekend Package positions qualify for hiring incentives paid out over a 3 year period. The amount of incentives offered may be discussed during the interview process.
**** Responsibilities:
*** A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
* Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
* Assumes responsibility for the management of clinical and supportive activities and allocation of human resources of the unit on a designated shift.
* Coaches and supports the team in accomplishing the unit and hospital mission.
* Ensures that care is delivered by those who are competent/trained to do so according to the patient population, level of technology required, complexity of care needs, and the age of the patient.
* Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for post-operative and acute care patients requiring hospitalization.
* Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
* Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.
* Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
** Requirements:
*** 3 years RN in an acute care setting
* Previous Charge Nurse or Team Leader experience preferred
* Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
* IA RN license or compact state
* Must have or be willing to obtain upon hire BLS, ACLS, PEARS or PALS and NCI - inhouse certification available

Pay is 10% higher than base pay or without benefits:
Pay is 33% higher than base pay
* ** Additional weekend incentive of 8 hours paid at base wage on bi-weekly paycheck
*** 42 out of 52 weekends or 126 shifts per year
* 10 weekends or 30 shifts off per year but may work additional during the week and weekends if there is a need
* The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
