Asset Protection Operations Coach

Position Summary

(USA) Asset Protection Operations Coach at Walmart in Spencer, IA. The role oversees merchandise presentation, loss prevention, team leadership, customer service, safety, training, claims and receiving, and ensures compliance with company policies.

Base pay range: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year.

• Drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signing, and optimal inventory levels.
• Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and providing feedback during Tour-to-Teach and other coaching activities.
• Model exceptional customer service standards and support customer service initiatives.
• Supervise hourly associates, hire, train, mentor, assign duties, and recognize performance.
• Manage merchandise loss prevention by setting performance goals, monitoring inventory reports, and implementing corrective actions.
• Investigate violations of company policies and conduct investigations related to fraud and other illegal activities.
• Ensure workplace safety by monitoring risk controls, preventing accidents, and providing training.
• Execute asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and proper documentation.
• Provide training on asset protection, safety, and claims processes as needed.

• Completion of 2 years of college OR 1 year of supervisory experience in a multi‑department environment.
• 1 year of experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection.
• 2 years of experience in asset protection or a related area.
• State requirements for asset protection (minimum age, specialized training, certification, or licensing).
• Current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility (if applicable).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training (if applicable).
• Required job‑training and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership or related degree.
• Certification in an asset protection related field (e.g., Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
• General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management and hiring.
• Investigative experience.
• Business or Criminal Justice background.
