The Role:

Join our City West branch as a Personal Banking Specialist, where you will be responsible for providing support to the Branch Manager in developing new business and providing exceptional service to new and existing members in person and via inbound and outbound calls. You will assist members with all insurance and lending enquiries and lead them through their lending journey from the beginning, through to settlement.

You will provide a specialised service that will help secure and enhance our members’ financial wellbeing.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle insurance and lending enquiries which include applications for car loans, personal loans, and credit cards.
  • Process new memberships, term deposits, new accounts, and any changes to member records.
  • Assist with teller transactions and cash handling.
  • Conduct phone, virtual, and in‑branch appointments with members to discuss their banking needs.
  • Educate our members on digital banking solutions.
  • Actively identify needs and offer products/services to match the members’ needs.
  • Build and maintain referral networks in the community by providing exceptional service.
  • Optimise opportunities to cross‑sell through needs‑based conversations.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank Vic’s products and services.
  • Achieve and maintain individual and department targets.
  • This role may be required to provide relief in other branch locations.
Hours, Training and

Location:
  • Branch location:
    City West branch, 278 Spencer Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
  • Employment type:

    Permanent, full time.
  • This branch's operating hours are 9:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. However, you will be required to work on a rotating roster between the hours of 8:30 am to 5 pm on a roster basis.
  • Comprehensive training provided.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience working in banking/financial services, particularly lending and/or insurance.
  • Experience in sales and cash handling is required.
  • RG146 Tier 2 certified, or willing to complete in‑house.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory framework; AFSL and ACL obligations and Privacy Legislation and adherence to Responsible Lending under the NCCP Act.
  • Awareness of ASIC Regulatory Guide.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of lending processes from application through to settlement.
  • A member (customer) centric attitude and a passion for outstanding customer service all the time.
  • Great attention to detail, and care about the accuracy of your work.
