Inventory Control and Part Maintenance SpecialistThis position maintains part master data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all Veridian sites while coordinating inventory activities and needs within the Spencer and Des Moines facilities. The Inventory Control and Part Maintenance Specialist is responsible for supporting inventory control, material flow, receiving, ERP data accuracy. This role helps ensure inventory accuracy, reliable production support, and a safe, well-maintained work environment.
The position maintains part master data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all Veridian sites while coordinating inventory activities and needs within the Spencer facility.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Management- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation.
- Develop, schedule, and execute cycle counting activities to support inventory accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory usage and material requirements to support production schedules.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to reduce waste, shrinkage, excess inventory, and stockouts.
- Maintain and update part master data and BOMs within the ERP system, including part numbers, descriptions, units of measure, lead times, safety stock levels, and material attributes.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across material and inventory records.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and other departments to validate new part setups and changes.
- Troubleshoot ERP inventory issues and support system enhancements and process improvements.
- Coordinate raw material availability to support production requirements.
- Communicate material shortages, delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns to appropriate production and quality teams.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, identification, and traceability of inventory and production materials.
- Support material staging and replenishment activities to minimize production interruptions.
- Coordinate and support receiving activities at the Spencer location.
- Ensure incoming materials are properly received, documented, labeled, and stored.
- Maintain organized storage areas and support efficient warehouse and material-handling practices.
- Ensure materials are stored in accordance with applicable safety, quality, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate material flow to production areas to help prevent downtime.
- Optimize staging and replenishment processes.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Respond to inventory or maintenance-related issues that may affect production continuity.
- Maintain accurate inventory, maintenance, and material records within applicable systems.
- Generate inventory reports, usage analysis, cycle count results, and other operational metrics.
- Track preventative maintenance activities and equipment service history.
- Identify trends, variances, and recurring issues and recommend corrective or preventative actions.
- Train employees on inventory procedures, ERP processes, material handling practices, and applicable safety requirements.
- Partner with production, quality, engineering, supply chain, and other internal teams to support operational goals.
