Autism Support Teaching Assistant – Specialist School – Ferryhill

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Ferryhill.

The school supports children and young people aged 4–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a variety of additional learning needs, providing a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with autism.
  • Assist with emotional regulation and sensory integration strategies.
  • Encourage engagement through structured routines and visual communication methods.
  • Promote independence and positive social interactions.
  • Work alongside teachers and wider professionals to support pupil progress.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children or adults with SEND.
  • Good understanding of autism and communication needs.
  • Calm, caring and resilient personality.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
