SEND Learning & Pastoral Mentor – Ferryhill (Full-Time)

Protocol Education is seeking a full-time SEND Learning & Pastoral Mentor to support pupils within a specialist school in Ferryhill
.
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties
.
As a mentor, you'll provide much more than classroom support. You'll help pupils overcome barriers, develop positive relationships and recognise their own strengths and achievements.
Key responsibilities- Providing consistent 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils' emotional and social wellbeing
- Developing positive relationships with learners
- Encouraging confidence and self-esteem
- Supporting positive behaviour
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Promoting independence and resilience
- Supporting individual learning and behaviour targets
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Encouraging and celebrating every step of progress
You may have experience as a:
- SEND Teaching Assistant
- Learning Mentor
- Pastoral Support Worker
- Behaviour Mentor
- Youth Worker
- Support Worker
- Psychology Graduate
- Care Professional

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
