Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join their Biomass Power Station in Chilton, Durham. Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment. Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency. Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS Supervising and directing on site contractors when required Working within the company health, safety and environmental processes and procedures at all times.

Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic/Control and Instrumentation Engineering A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who has:
Prior experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, Coal, CHP, etc), Pharmaceutical, Chemicals, Steel Production, etc. Having prior experience working with steam generation equipment will be highly advantageous. Excellent technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, Instrumentation and Electrical systems Experience working with HV equipment will be highly desirable Experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Salary and benefits of the EC&I Technician role A salary of £51,000 Bonus Overtime Other company benefits LI-AP1 INDPOW Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
